Prime Cardiology

Led By Dr Vahid Moosavi (MD, FRACP)

Clinical Consultation

At Prime Cardiology we provide specialist adult cardiology consultations for the assessment and management of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and risk factors. Each consultation involves a detailed review of your history, symptoms, previous investigations and risk profile, with a focus on accurate diagnosis and evidence based decision making. Rather than a rushed appointment, the goal is a clear explanation of what is happening with your heart and a practical plan for what happens next. Consultations are led by Dr Vahid Moosavi, a consultant cardiologist (MD, FRACP) with subspecialty training in multimodality cardiac imaging. Where further testing is needed, it can often be arranged efficiently through the practice, and every management plan is tailored to the individual in line with current best practice guidelines.

When a cardiology consultation is recommended

  • Chest pain, tightness or pressure
  • Palpitations, a racing, skipping or irregular heartbeat
  • Shortness of breath or reduced exercise tolerance
  • Dizziness, light-headedness or fainting
  • An abnormal ECG, echocardiogram or blood pressure reading
  • High cardiovascular risk, or a strong family history of heart disease

What to expect at your appointment

During your consultation, Dr Moosavi will take a careful history, examine you, and review any investigations you bring. You will receive an explanation of the likely cause of your symptoms, a discussion of the options, and a clear plan. This may include lifestyle guidance, medication, further diagnostic testing, or ongoing monitoring. Please bring your referral, Medicare card, a list of your current medications, and any recent test results or scans.

For referring doctors

Prime Cardiology welcomes referrals for symptom assessment, risk stratification, abnormal investigation follow up, and shared ongoing management. Referrals can be sent through the Open Referral Form or by secure email. Telehealth consultations are available where a face to face visit is not required, which can be helpful for regional patients or follow up reviews. Please include the clinical question, relevant history, current medications and any prior cardiac investigations.
